Facades and wall decorations made of clinker

Modern arrangements focus the viewer’s eye on each other. They must surprise, present a specific vision and be functional. External elevation referring to both traditional and innovative ideas, decoration of the living room with clinker bricks – these are the trends to which attention should be paid!
Natural clinker is a durable, aesthetic and prestigious material. Currently, it is very often confused with clinker-like products. True clinker is characterized by absorbability up to 6%, resistance to destructive loads of at least 28 N/mm2 and net density of at least 1900 kg/m3. Such parameters make bricks and clinker tiles an attractive material for external façade arrangements and interior wall decoration.
Clinker façade
The façade made of clinker resembles a brick wall from the times when it was not built of hollow bricks and did not heat up with foamed polystyrene. Deciding on such a facade, we have a choice – bricks or tiles. Both solutions are prestige, quality and elegance. Clinker products, due to their technical values, make each wall finished with them durable, resistant to weather conditions and, above all, look good. Clinker façade made of tiles or bricks is an investment that will serve for many decades. It does not change colour and looks attractive for many years.
Traditional or modern
If you decide to decorate the exterior walls in this way, you have unlimited room for manoeuvre. Every architect or designer is able to make a façade arrangement that will appeal to people with even the most exorbitant requirements. Various textures, colours and the possibility of combining them with other finishing materials, such as wood, glass or steel, will easily break the existing stereotypes about subdued and homogeneous elevations. Deciding on tiles or clinker bricks for facades, we can also refer to traditional sacral buildings from the past. Very often we come back to tried and tested and simple solutions. Simplicity, elegance and quality go hand in hand here. The pattern of old brick, the texture corresponding to tastes will reflect the buildings existing for several generations.
Interior is also important
Just as important as the exterior appearance is what is inside. Contemporary architects’ stylizations are far removed from traditional solutions. They are dominated by glass, natural concrete and stone. What about clinker? The wall finished with clinker tiles is still appreciated. Very often it is combined with other elements and forms of interior decoration. The brick, in short or long formats, will blend in perfectly with the surroundings of any interior. Additional lighting will create an appropriate atmosphere and will give the whole extraordinary look. There are plenty of options – the arrangement possibilities of clinker in interiors have no limits.
Aesthetic execution with a palette of colours and textures
When deciding on walls finished with clinker tiles, we must take care of their aesthetic appearance. In part, the manufacturers met this need of consumers, also offering corner tiles. They are a perfect finish and greatly facilitate the work associated with their lining. Due to the production capacity, tiles are manufactured in hundreds of patterns. Smooth and simple, rough, with the effect of manual forming or imitating old brick – these are just some of the available possibilities. Each model in several colors allows you to create unique designs. An additional advantage is the possibility of combining different textures into one coherent element.
When tiles, when bricks?
In the case of internal walls it does not matter. If, however, we do not want to overpay, it is enough to use tiles of properly selected thickness. The matter is complicated in the case of external elevations. The form in which we can use clinker to finish the façade depends on the type of external wall. When the wall is double-layer, the facade is finished by gluing clinker tiles to the insulation layer. It’s a bit cheaper, but also easier and faster. In three-layer walls, the curtain layer is made of façade bricks. They have a large mass, so they require appropriately wide foundations, which have to carry the load of this additional wall. A three-layer wall may also have an external layer made of non-façade bricks, to which tiles are then glued. However, such a solution, due to high costs and labour consumption, is rare.
To sum up, clinker products in the form of tiles and bricks are perfect for modern construction. Architects very often use this type of products, creating unique and unique finishes of external elevations and interiors.
