Iron
Iron is very important because it is responsible for the strengthening and hardening of the nail plate. They are found mainly in beef, dried plums and apricots, green vegetables such as asparagus, spinach, broccoli and even chocolate. We must remember that our diet should be rich in vitamin C products, because it supports the absorption of iron.
Vitamins from group B
They prevent breaking and splitting of nails. Vitamin B1, B2 and B6 is especially necessary. They are found in green vegetables such as spinach and Brussels sprouts, as well as in legumes, almonds, corn, wheat, fish, yeast. They also help to maintain a beautiful complexion!
Zinc
It is responsible for strengthening the nails, and its deficiency can cause white spots appearing on the plate. Without it, they will become soft and brittle. Where can we find it? Mainly in oysters, poultry, groats, wholemeal bread, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
Magnesium
This is another mineral that, if missing, can make our nails in a bad condition. Its deficiency causes their brittleness. The source of iron is buckwheat groats, nuts, dark wholegrain bread, apples, white beans, peas, spinach.
Calcium
Calcium is also very important, its absence weakens the nails and makes them fragile. If we eat products that contain calcium, they will stop breaking and splitting. Calcium can be found mainly in milk and dairy products such as yoghurts, buttermilk and cottage cheese. Green vegetables, wholegrain bread, fruit such as bananas and apricots, as well as nuts are also a source of this.
