Chassis maintenance how to do it

Chassis maintenance – how to do it?
Driving on American roads, especially in winter, every driver is aware of how the weather conditions and the tones of salt sleeping on the road affect the chassis of his car. Quite a simple solution that we can do on our own (or have it done in a workshop) is chassis maintenance. To do this, you will need a garage with a duct or lift and a pair of tools and preparations. The process itself is not too complicated, it only requires some time to dry the primers and preparations.
In the initial stage of maintenance we will need an abrasive paper, a wire brush, a drill or an angle grinder with special discs for cleaning metal. After a thorough inspection of the chassis, we must find possible places that require cleaning (rust elements, descending old maintenance). Such places are thoroughly cleaned and painted with an anti-corrosion primer. It is also worth to clean the entire frame and chassis minimally with a wire brush, while removing dirt, pieces of mud so that the surface for future maintenance is clean. In places where we find holes should be used welder to weld or use a special resin. When cleaning rusty areas and fixing holes, we can use one or two layers of acrylic primer. After the primer has dried, the chassis is properly maintained. You can use preparations called bitex or lambs for this purpose. The choice is up to us. They can be applied either with a compressor or a spray. In shops we can buy both such and such packaging so if someone does not have a compressor can boldly apply the spray. When painting, remember to protect the top of the car, e.g. with a newspaper or painting tape so as not to stimulate yourself thresholds or doors. During the maintenance of the chassis we should also remember about brake and fuel hoses. If you can see that they are starting to rust and you do not want to replace them yet, it is worthwhile to grease them with a thick layer of machine grease. This will protect them from rust and extend their service life. The whole process of chassis maintenance lasts from 2-3 days.
