Car rental rules

Rules of car rental
Renting a car is an idea that we reach for more and more often. Poles usually rent a car for the first time when going on holiday. It is a possibility which is used when you arrive at the airport and when you are already at your destination, abroad. Moving a rented car is not only cheap, but also comfortable. It is worth to reach for such a solution also in the country.
Instead of a neighbour
Not all novelties are absorbed with the same intensity. The owners of car rental companies have found out about this. Their customers are mainly tourists, businessmen and people who use a replacement car under insurance, for example after an accident. Such a solution is also used in the case of long waiting for a car that is in the workshop for another reason, such as waiting several weeks for the original parts to be brought from the factory. However, car rentals are rarely visited by private individuals who need a car for a while. We would sooner think about using a taxi, even in the option of ordering a permanent transport. Most often, we call for immediate and slightly more frequent trips from relatives, family or neighbors. They take us to the airport or other place where we can get to the fastest by car. A great alternative that does not cause any trouble to anyone is to rent a car.
Driver abroad
Who should contact a car rental company? Certainly a person who drives a car well. This applies especially to renting abroad, usually for a few or several days. A driver who is not very confident in his or her skills should look for someone to replace him or her “behind the wheel”. If you feel uncomfortable in your car, in someone else’s, this feeling may intensify. It will result in stress, associated with responsibility for the entrusted car and this can generate unnecessary problems. It is also worth remembering that in every country drivers behave slightly different behind the wheel. Such a clash with cultural differences may also have a depressing effect and will certainly weaken our concentration. Countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary are usually similar to our own. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Belgium are countries where more vigilance is needed. Northern Italy, France, Slovenia, Portugal, Croatia and Montenegro are countries where the fantasy of drivers is sometimes unpredictable, so potentially dangerous. Cold blood will come in handy here, but above all, a great control over the steering wheel.
Before you rent a
When looking for a car rental company it is worth to use reputable companies. They do not use various “tricks” that may surprise us, do not have hidden costs and strange provisions in the contract. A good idea is to find a company that operates within a large multinational corporation, like Sixt. Rental terms and conditions are comparable in all countries where they exist. A large company relies on convenience, bookings can usually be made via the hotline, website or mobile app. This allows the customer to browse the available cars and check the price list. The more inquisitive can look at the opinions of the company we are interested in. Reservations are usually made shortly in advance, as the rotation of the vehicles is high. The driver should have a valid driver’s license, identity card and passport with him/her. If the car is driven by an additional driver, this must be agreed upon, as the name of such a person must be included in the contract.
When renting a car, it is worthwhile to find out what our legal situation is like in case of any problems. The driver is not responsible for the accident, if the collision was not caused by his fault. In such a situation it is good to call the police and not to settle the matter amicably. You should also send a statement from the scene of the incident, together with the insurance policy number of the offender. The car rental company will take care of all the formalities concerning the contact with the insurer. The customer receives a replacement car so that he or she can continue his or her journey freely.
